Volkswagen Group of America is recalling 14,535 2017 Audi Q7 SUVs because the front airbags may deploy with more force than required in certain crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

"Airbags that deploy with excessive force may increase the risk of injury," the NHTSA said in its recall summary.

There are no incidents or injuries linked to the recall, Volkswagen told federal safety regulators.

Traced to a software issue, the problem affects 2017 Q7 SUVs built from August 30, 2015, to May 8, 2016.

Audi dealers will update the airbag control module software. A date has not been set for the recall. Owners can contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834.
